Some recent stuff

Since my work moved up to SF I've been riding Caltrain and it's been a good opportunity to do some sketching, which I've really hadn't been doing much of until the move. People stay pretty still in the train which is good but at the same time it can get pretty bumpy which lends itself to more loose sketching. I also finished UV'ing and texturing my tank model in Maya. It was a pain but I learned a lot and I think I can do it a lot better and more efficiently next time. Baby steps!

Kitbash.....done!

I finished the little kitbash scene and yesterday I finally got the little display case in the mail to put it in. These photos were taken right after I put it all together so they're not the best but I'll see how I can set up a better lighting setup for nice photos. This was really fun to work on and it'll probably be the last model I work on since I don't want this stuff taking up more room.

Flying things

I'm calling the float plane done and I felt I was in a good rhythm so I started on another airplane piece. These aren't actual airplanes but they're influenced by different planes from ww2 to create imaginary ones.

Throttling up

WIP of a quick piece I've been doing the last two lunches at work after being inspired by this guy:

One or two more sittings should finish it up.

kitbashing part 5 weathering

I started to weather the vehicle with watercolors and colored pencils. The figure was touched up with the same materials.

Kitbashing part 4...blocking it in

I started to paint the main parts of the vehicle, detailing and weather will be the last thing to do. I'll be breaking up the green color as well, with different shades of green.
